This website details the project of developing my first robot, named "Isaac".  The aims of the project are to develop a robot that will meet the following requirements:
Must be able to travel over uneven terrain, such as  clothes, shoes and other items lying around my house.  It must also be able to go up and down a 5cm vertical drop.
It must not throw itself over the edge of drops that will "kill" it (e.g. drive off the edge of a table).
Be able to map the environment it is in (maybe using some kind of rotating sonar device).
Be "afraid" of the heat (I don't want it stopping next to one of our gas heaters).
It must not scare my cat.

I've just finished setting up the initial structure for this website.  I hope to add a discussion group soon.  I've been doing a bit of work on an Initial Design Concepts report.
